SCMAO Logo

The year 2021-22 was a year of evolution for SCMAO (then operating as Supply Chain Canada, Ontario Institute). The paradigm shifts in the supply chain landscape have changed the way organizations perceive the role of supply chain. The role of supply chain in an organization’s strategic framework is about to become more important than ever and as your association, we are proud to be the home you can come back to, as you navigate this new trajectory for supply chains of the future.

On January 6, 2023 SCMAO was advised by Supply Chain Canada, National Office that the Board and leadership had chosen to defer the matter back to a “working group” and the FC.

Based on the response from Supply Chain Canada, National Office, the SCMAO Board and leadership interpret the continued lack of a decision by the National leadership as suggesting that the reciprocity of CSCMP/SCMP is unlikely.

The Federation Council (FC) held its first meeting following the mass resignation of the National Board and staff in June.

At the meeting on October 1, 2022, SCMAO tabled the opportunity to maintain reciprocity as it relates to the SCMP/CSCMP designation and specifically cited that clause 5.8 in the Federation Agreement provides the National office the “exclusive right” to provide reciprocity with other designations and as such the national office does not require the Federation Council’s approval on the matter.
